Google Gemma Terms — Pass-through
Cove uses Google Gemma as its on-device engine. Under the Gemma Terms of Use, downstream distributors must pass the same terms through to end users. The official text at Google always controls; the summary below is for your convenience.
1. Gemma Terms of Use
The full Terms live at Google's site. By using any Cove app you also accept the Gemma Terms in their entirety.
Read the official Gemma Terms of Use
2. Prohibited Use Policy
Gemma may not be used to generate content that violates applicable law, including but not limited to: content that sexualizes minors; incites violence; enables serious harm; or provides individualized medical diagnosis, legal advice, or financial advice that requires a licensed professional.

3. No warranty from Google
Gemma is provided "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
As a downstream distributor, Cove passes this disclaimer through unchanged. Cove adds no warranty of its own.
4. How Cove uses Gemma
- Inference runs fully on your device; model weights do not leave your phone.
- Cove does not use your inputs to retrain, fine-tune, or ship any model derivatives.
- Cove does not resell, relicense, or redistribute Gemma outside the signed Cove apps.
- Any future commercial extension (server-side inference, API access) requires this page to be updated first.
